3 Ways to Take Action!

In partnership with the Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity, World Uyghur Congress, the Uyghur Human Rights Project, and Jewish World Watch are hosting a Uyghur Freedom Summit and Candlelight Vigil in New York on December 7, 2023, to lift up the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Uyghur Genocide Commemoration Day, and Hanukkah. We invite you and your communities to join us in attending or organizing events throughout the country to fight for Uyghur rights over the next couple months!

Harvest Festival

As we consider what it means to welcome guests (or “ushpizin“) into our homes and hospitality this Sukkot, we also reflect on who is unable to join us because they are not free. JWW invites you and your organizations to host or join online and in-person actions as part of a national campaign to end the Uyghur genocide.

Winter Candlelighting

For Hanukah, Jews light their menorah to shine light into the world the darkest time of night when it is needed most. This December, JWW will host both in-person events and a global digital #LightTheNightForUyghurRights campaign to light 1.8 million candles in global solidarity with the estimated 1.8 million Uyghurs imprisoned in East Turkestan by the Chinese government.
