\u201cEnough is enough,\u201d is the cry reverberating throughout the United States in response to the murder of George Floyd. \u201cEnough is enough\u201d echoes the founding principle of Jewish World Watch \u2013 \u201cNever again,\u201d to targeted killings of people for their race or ethnicity.<\/p>\n
We have all learned through pervasive videos over the past three decades, since the emergence of a filmed record of the Los Angeles police beating of Rodney King, that Black and Brown Americans suffer from a disproportionate disregard for justice. In standing for equity, we at Jewish World Watch stand in solidarity with those of all backgrounds who suffer racism and terror simply for who they are.<\/p>\n
We must unite in saying, \u201cenough is enough.\u201d<\/strong> In the words of our co-founder, Rabbi Harold M. Schulweis (z\u201dl)<\/em>: \u201cWe raise our voices because we global Jews know that silence is lethal and meekness is inexcusable.\u201d<\/p>\n What can we do? We can make the memory of George Floyd and many more a blessing by standing together in peaceful protest. We can advocate for systemic change to combat sanctioned racism throughout our country.
