Shining a light on the Uyghur crisis

As the world learns of China’s surveillance, imprisonment, torture and forced “reeducation” of millions of Uyghurs, an ethnic group based mostly in Xinjiang Province in northwest China, Jewish World Watch has joined with the California Uyghur diaspora community to give voice to their disappeared relatives.

Jewish World Watch supporters and numerous Uyghurs together have met with multiple members of Congress and rallied at the U.S. Federal Building to throw light on the horrific atrocities inflicted on those remaining in China.

“Thank you, Jewish World Watch, for being a voice for the almost 11 million Uyghur victims of the 21st-century genocide committed by the Chinese Communist Party.” – Nurnisa Kurban

Nurnisa is one of the local diaspora members who joined Jewish World Watch when we visited local elected officials, including Congressmen Adam Schiff and Brad Sherman, to tell the story of these atrocities.

“Jewish World Watch, you have been our guard, our support and our family. We will continue to stand together and fight for justice, not only for the Uyghurs, but for all victims of genocide, and vow ‘Never Again.’ ” – Nurnisa Kurban
